Why We Built This
We started Energy Savers Hub because we kept running into the same problem: homeowners who wanted to reduce their dependence on utility companies had nowhere to go for honest, practical information. The mainstream energy conversation was dominated by either corporate messaging from the utilities themselves, or by high-end solar installers whose advice was inseparable from their sales pitch.
What was missing was a resource that treated homeowners as capable adults — people who could understand the technical realities of solar panels, battery storage and off-grid systems, and make their own informed decisions. That is what Energy Savers Hub is built to be.
What We Cover
Our coverage spans the full spectrum of home energy independence, from the smallest efficiency upgrade to a complete off-grid installation:
- DIY solar installations — how to design, size and install residential solar systems without paying installer markup
- Home battery systems — lithium, LiFePO4 and lead-acid options, sizing guides, installation safety and real-world performance
- Off-grid power systems — complete system design for properties that want to sever the utility connection entirely
- Water-powered generation — micro-hydro and water-wheel systems for properties with running water access
- Home efficiency upgrades — insulation, air sealing, smart controls and appliance choices that reduce baseline consumption
- Energy independence planning — the strategic picture of how to move from grid-dependent to self-sufficient over time
Who We Help
Our primary audience is the US homeowner aged 40 and over who has watched their utility bills climb for years and has decided that enough is enough. These are people who own their homes, have the practical ability to take on DIY projects, and are motivated by a combination of financial sense and a genuine desire for self-sufficiency.
We also serve homeowners who are earlier in the process — people who are just starting to explore their options and need a clear, unbiased overview of what is actually possible before they commit to any particular path.
Our Editorial Approach
We do not accept payment for coverage. We do not have commercial relationships with solar installers, battery manufacturers or utility companies. Where we earn revenue — through affiliate commissions on products we recommend — we disclose this clearly and it does not influence our editorial judgement.
We write in plain language. We do not hide behind jargon or assume technical knowledge. Where technical detail is necessary, we explain it. Where a simpler approach exists, we say so.
We do not publish content we cannot stand behind. If we cover a product or system, it is because we believe it represents genuine value for the homeowner — not because someone paid us to say so.
The Company Behind the Site
Energy Savers Hub is operated by Zebbel Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. We operate this site as an independent information and affiliate resource. For any enquiries, please use the contact details provided in our Privacy Policy.
Independence
No manufacturer relationships. No installer affiliations. Our only obligation is to the homeowner reading the page.
Practicality
We cover what homeowners can actually do, with real budgets, real skill levels and real regulatory environments.
Transparency
We disclose affiliate relationships clearly. We distinguish between what we know and what we believe. We correct errors when we find them.
